The Qur’an speaks about the Tree of Zaqqūm in several places, most clearly in Surah As-Sāffāt (37:62–68). Allah says: “Is that better as a hospitality or the Tree of Zaqqūm? Indeed, We have made it a trial for the wrongdoers. It is a tree that emerges from the bottom of Hellfire. Its fruit is like the heads of devils.
