Fun fact, a hard start does not refuse the inrush current, it only reduces the TIME it's in inrush current by adding more amps to the start winding increasing the torque to start the compressor faster. This starts the compressor faster then the meeter reads to it shows a lower amp reading misleading up to think it reduced the inrush current. While the hard start has some benefits in some applications, it does not reduce the current. A true soft start is the only way to reduce inrush current but
